Staff Training Courses
We come to you! Access face to face training, delivered by accredited practitioners in the comfort of your own school.
With 15 years of experience in delivering therapeutic interventions with children and young people, across a range of settings, you can be assured your staff will benefit from practical, evidence-informed training they can confidently apply within the classroom and wider school environment.
Participants will also receive resources from the session and a certificate confirming CPD hours, which can be used for professional development portfolios.
Emotionally Based School Avoidance
What staff learn:
- Why students avoid school due to anxiety
- Difference between truancy and EBSA
- Early warning signs
- How to respond in school
- Supporting reintegration

This training is typically delivered as a 90 minute twilight session, but it can also be adapted into a half-day or full-day workshop to allow for deeper exploration, discussion and practical application.

What staff will learn:
- Understanding ADHD and ASD in the classroom
- Recognising masking and burnout in students
- Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs

Core Therapeutic Principles for the Classroom
Delivered by a BABCP and IPT-UK accredited therapist, staff will learn core therapeutic principles from CBT and IPT they can apply in the classroom and wider school environment.
What staff learn:
- Understanding the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours
- Thought-challenging strategies for anxious or overwhelmed students
- Helping students identify and express emotions
- Using interpersonal mapping to understand relationships and support networks
- Supporting problem-solving and communication between students and peers
- Practical delivery of the therapeutic core skills

This training is delivered as a half-day workshop (3 hours) or a full day workshop (6 hours).

What staff will learn:
- Understanding emotional regulation and the nervous system
-Recognising early signs of overwhelm or dysregulation
- Practical delivery of safety and stabilisation strategies

Pupil Offer
Stay Weird and New Bury Boxing CIC have teamed up to deliver a revolutionary, one-of-a-kind therapeutic offer for your pupils:
Talk and Train!
Open to children from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 this a completely personalised and tailored programme for your pupils.
This therapeutic intervention is delivered over 8 weeks and is suitable for pupils who may be struggling with emotional-wellbeing, school-based anxiety or classroom engagement.
Each session combines a 45 minute therapeutic support session delivered by a BABCP and IPT-UK accredited Psychological Therapist, with a 45 minute structured boxing activity, delivered by a fully qualified boxing coach.

1. Talk and Train with boxing gloves
An 8 week programme delivered in school, for groups of, no more than, 8 pupils. All pupils whom participate will be given their very own boxing gloves to keep! They will also have open access to the New Bury Boxing club.
All resources are provided and there is a further option of in-school mentoring.
Cost: £1450
2. Talk and Train, no boxing gloves
Your pupils receive the same exceptional quality therapeutic intervention and train session, however they will not receive a pair of boxing gloves to keep.

3. Talk and Train, block booking
Love the idea of Talk and Train and want to book more than 1 group delivery? Fantastic! We recognise how important it is that your staff can continue the work that we have delivered in school. When booking a block of 3 sessions, you will receive the half-day teacher training package, worth £450, completely free!
This can be bespoke to any SEMH training and or/ education you require for your staff and will also include a boxing session.
